The last 20-30 minutes of the film go pretty dark, in a way that I think is justified. The great thing is that its not all physical horror its also psychological and emotional horror. But, theres a lot of red in the third act. Unfortunately, most of it is spoiler territory. Lauzirika: We had several people working on the gore and the blood and the effects, throughout the film. Shock: What can viewers expect from the film, in terms of violence?
It was like the film was off balance, a little bit, and what he got from those notes nailed it. It was the exact right eight minutes to cut. Off of those notes, I cut eight minutes from the film. The next morning, he called me and gave me wonderful notes. After the second cut, I sent him a Blu ray to watch. But, basically, I would always go back to what I learned from Ridley. This film cost as much as the catering budget did for one day on Prometheus. I could think about problems that I was facing with Crave, and I would ask myself How would Ridley solve this? The thing is, he is working on $100,000,000 movies. So, when it came down to making my own film, I definitely drew upon some of that experience. That was a really great film school, seeing him at work. Lauzirika: In being on set for his films and documenting his work, Ive learned a lot, just from that. Shock: Did your background working with Ridley Scott influence the film, at all? Then, we go entirely off the rails in the third act of the film. We think that everything is going to be OK, but then she realizes whats really going on. But, then he meets this woman, Virginia, who brings him balance. As we begin the film, we find him out of balance.

As the film begins, those dark fantasies of sex and violence are starting to crack and break out of him. Hes seen so much violence and decay and gore on the job that he has retreated in to this fantasy world. But, I cant sell it as that. Its about a crime scene photographer, played by Josh Lawson. In my heart of hearts, its a dysfunctional love story. Basically, its kind of a psychological noir. I feel like Crave is not easily put in a box. Theres a little bit of this, theres a little bit of that. I ask them, in return, What genre is Fight Club, or Taxi Driver, for that matter? Theres a lot of drama, theres a little bit of horror.
